Privacy Policy
Last updated — May 12, 2026
We keep this short and plain. No legalese walls. Just a clear explanation of what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
We don't sell your data
Your information is never sold to third parties, advertisers or data brokers.
No ads. Ever.
Auditor runs no advertising. Your usage data is not monetised through ad networks.
You stay in control
Access, correct or delete your data at any time by contacting us or using your account settings.
Overview
Auditor operates as a two-sided audio licensing marketplace. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the platform, how we use it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.
This policy applies to everyone who uses Auditor — whether you are browsing as a guest, buying a license, or uploading audio as a creator. By using the platform, you agree to the practices described here.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not run advertising on our platform. The data we collect exists to make Auditor work.
What We Collect
We collect information in two ways — what you give us directly, and what we observe as you use the platform.
Information you provide: — Account details: your name, email address, username and password when you register. — Profile information: profile picture, display name and any bio you choose to add. — Payment information: billing details collected at checkout. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor and never stored on our servers. — Payout details: bank account or PayPal information entered for creator payouts. — Communications: messages you send to our support team. — Uploaded content: audio files, metadata, titles, tags and descriptions.
Information we observe: — Usage data: pages visited, tracks played, searches made, features used and time spent on the platform. — Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system and device identifiers. — Transaction records: purchases made, licenses issued and download history. — Performance data: play counts, download counts and geographic reach associated with your uploaded audio.
How We Use It
We use the information we collect to:
— Create and maintain your account. — Process payments and issue licenses to buyers. — Calculate and process creator payouts. — Show you your dashboard analytics — plays, downloads, earnings. — Surface relevant audio in search and browse results. — Send transactional emails: purchase receipts, payout confirmations, account notices. — Respond to support requests. — Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents. — Improve the platform based on how it is used.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles. We do not share your data with ad networks. We do not use your listening or browsing history to serve you targeted ads.
Creator Data
If you use Auditor as a creator, we collect and process additional information specific to your activity.
Your public profile — name, profile picture and audio catalogue — is visible to anyone on the platform. Buyers who purchase a license to your audio will see your creator name associated with that license.
Your earnings, payout history and banking details are private and visible only to you and, where required, our payment processor.
Analytics data (plays, downloads, geographic reach) is displayed on your creator dashboard. Aggregated, anonymised versions of this data may be used to improve platform features.
If you delete your account, your audio is removed from public listings. Previously issued licenses remain valid — buyers retain the rights they purchased. Your earnings history and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable financial regulations.
Buyer Data
Your purchase history, download records and issued licenses are stored in your account and accessible from your account page at any time.
Your name and email address are used to issue license documentation and send purchase receipts. We do not share your identity with the creator whose audio you purchased unless you choose to make contact through a platform feature.
If you delete your account, your purchase history is removed from the platform. Your licenses remain valid — deletion does not revoke previously issued rights. We retain transaction records for the period required by applicable financial regulations.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
Account data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion, subject to legal and regulatory retention obligations.
Transaction records and financial data are retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with standard accounting and tax requirements.
Audio files uploaded by a creator are removed from public access upon account deletion. Backup copies may persist in our infrastructure for up to 90 days before full deletion.
Support communications are retained for 2 years to help with follow-up enquiries.
Your Rights
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction — you can update inaccurate or incomplete information from your account settings at any time.
Deletion — you can delete your account and request erasure of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
Portability — you can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection — you can object to certain types of processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@auditor.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment data is handled by PCI-compliant processors. Connections to the platform are encrypted via HTTPS.
No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users within the timeframe required by applicable law.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at hello@auditor.com.
Children
Auditor is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we become aware that a user under 18 has created an account, we will take steps to delete their information and terminate the account promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@auditor.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice on the platform.
Your continued use of Auditor after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
