Terms of Service
Last updated — May 12, 2026
Please read these terms carefully before using Auditor. They govern your use of the platform as both a creator and a buyer.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Auditor, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you may not use the platform. These terms apply to all visitors, users, creators and anyone who accesses or uses the service.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Auditor after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
What Auditor Is
Auditor is a two-sided audio licensing marketplace. Creators upload original audio content and set their own licensing terms. Buyers browse, preview and purchase licenses to use that content.
Auditor is the platform facilitating these transactions — not a record label, publisher or rights holder. We do not claim ownership of any audio uploaded by creators, and we are not a party to the license agreement between a creator and a buyer beyond processing the transaction.
Accounts
You must create an account to upload audio, purchase licenses or access certain features. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to update that information if it changes. Auditor reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Creator Obligations
By uploading audio to Auditor, you confirm that:
— You own the audio outright, or hold all necessary rights to license it commercially. — The audio does not infringe any third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right. — You have cleared all samples, interpolations, or third-party contributions included in the audio. — The audio does not contain content that is unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise prohibited under these terms.
You retain full ownership of your audio. By uploading, you grant Auditor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, stream, display and process your audio for the purposes of operating the platform — including generating waveform previews and facilitating buyer downloads.
If we receive a valid takedown notice or determine that uploaded content violates these terms, we reserve the right to remove it without prior notice.
Licensing & Buyer Rights
When you purchase a license on Auditor, you receive a non-transferable right to use the audio under the terms of the license tier you selected:
Personal Use — for non-commercial, private projects only. You may not monetise content that uses this audio.
Commercial Use — for commercial projects including advertisements, client work, online content and broadcast. You may not sub-license or resell the audio itself.
Exclusive Use — the creator agrees not to sell this audio to any other buyer after your purchase. You receive the broadest usage rights available on the platform. Specific exclusivity terms are confirmed at point of purchase.
All licenses are perpetual and survive cancellation of your account. However, they do not transfer ownership of the underlying copyright to you. You may not redistribute, resell or sub-license the audio file itself under any tier.
Payments & Payouts
All payments are processed in USD. Prices displayed are final — no hidden fees are added at checkout.
Creators receive payouts on a fixed monthly schedule. Auditor retains a platform fee on each transaction, which is disclosed before you publish your first track. The remaining amount is credited to your creator balance and becomes eligible for payout once it reaches the minimum threshold of $100.
Auditor does not guarantee any specific level of sales or income. Payout timelines are targets, not guarantees, and may be affected by payment processor delays outside our control.
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you believe a purchase was made in error or the audio materially misrepresented, contact billing@auditor.com within 7 days of purchase.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
— Upload audio you do not have the rights to license. — Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape or extract data from the platform without written permission. — Use the platform to distribute malware, spam or any harmful content. — Circumvent any technical measures that restrict access to paid content. — Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation. — Use automated means to access the platform at a scale that disrupts service for other users.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, removal of content, and where applicable, referral to relevant authorities.
Intellectual Property
The Auditor platform — including its design, codebase, brand, interface elements and non-user-generated content — is owned by Auditor and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use Auditor's name, logo or branding without prior written consent.
User-generated content (audio, profile information) remains the property of the user who uploaded it, subject to the licence granted to Auditor described in the Creator Obligations section above.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. On deletion, your audio will be removed from public listings. Buyers who have previously purchased a license to your audio retain that license — deletion does not revoke previously issued rights.
Auditor may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if your account poses a risk to the platform or other users. Where possible, we will notify you before taking action.
Limitation of Liability
Auditor is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, about the reliability, accuracy or fitness of the platform for any particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Auditor and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform — including loss of revenue, loss of data or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the platform will not exceed the amount you paid to Auditor in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Auditor will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the territory where Auditor is incorporated.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
